Our favourite TV hunks will be putting their best feet forward this weekend as they lace up their trainers to join forces on the football pitch.

Coronation Street and Hollyoaks regulars are among those making up the showbiz team at Morecambes Christie Park this Sunday.

While the full starting line-up has yet to be confirmed, Ryan Thomas (aka Corries Jason Grimshaw) and Chester bad boy Warren Fox are both hoping to wow fans with their ball skills.

They take on The Bay All-Stars – a team of local footballers – at 13:00 GMT, with all ticket proceeds going to Cancer Care.

Martyn Butlin, of organisers Heysham power stations, tells the Lakeland Echo: "The soap stars are fantastic. They turn up for free and sign autographs and pose for photos for hours."

Its not the first time this month Corrie and Hollyoaks have been helping out on the pitch for charity; last week they took on soldiers from Derbyshires Mercian Regiment for the Army Benevolent Fund.
