Queen Vic frowns on dancing show
Looks like the regular EastEnder offerings on hit talent show Strictly Come Dancing are about to end – programme bosses have allegedly banned cast members from entering this year.
The Sun reports extending the celebrity contest from 14 to 16 weeks has forced the soap to come down hard on taking time out.
In the past, Albert Square regulars have dominated the competition, with Christopher Parker (aka Spencer Moon) the first to don his dancing shoes and finish runner-up in the original series.
Jill Halfpenny went on to win the second series, while Patsy Palmer, Louisa Lytton and Letitia Dean all featured in subsequent runs.
However its not all bad news for our winter cuppa and slipper viewing – TV Biz claims glamour couple Jordan and Peter Andre are in talks to appear in this years Strictly Come Dancing instead.
The new series kicks off in September.
