PC Will Fletcher will be polishing up his boots in time for a three-month trial with Sun Hills CID.

The hunky beat copper – played by Gary Lucy – cant wait for the challenge after a difficult few months on the police drama.

Gary explains to the Sun: "Will hasnt always had an easy time – hes been romantically involved with both PC Honey Harman and PC Emma Keane, with disastrous consequences.

"Moving over to CID is a chance to put all that behind him – and he cant be faulted for his eagerness!"

For Gary meanwhile, the plot development offers a welcome chance to trade in his drab police uniform for a slightly dapper look with the big boys in CID.

Sources tell the Mirror: "Bosses let Gary go to Savile Row to be measured up for a bespoke suit. Its a far cry from the shiny tat he wore on Footballers Wives."

Wills promotion isnt the only big upcoming storyline at Sun Hill, however. In a European first, the show is currently filming a shared investigation with top German cop programme SOKO Leipzig.
