Former Corrie hairdresser Nikki Sanderson cant wait for her new role on Heartbeat to start – so she can show off her stunning period costumes.

The 24-year-old quit the Mancunian soap in 2005 but crashes back onto our screens on August 3rd when Dawn Bellamy, the late PC Bellamys niece, arrives in Aidensfield on the back of a tractor.

Nikki admits she cant get enough of her character – especially when it comes to her wardrobe.

She tells the Mirror: "The outfits we wear are fantastic. Mine are very colourful. They have made me a cool micromini that was so short I had to ask them to let it down a bit because I couldnt lift my arms up!

"Its been great fun dressing up in all the 1960s garb – I felt like a little girl raiding her mums closet."

Lets hope theres a pair of high heels in there so sweet-toothed Nikki can reach the biscuit tin. She recently revealed to the Sun that since joining the show shes piled on a few pounds from gorging on her "real vice" of choccie treats.
