Sharron Davies killer heels steal Olympic spotlight
This mornings BBC coverage of the Olympic highlights was overshadowed by the champion swimmer Sharron Davies athletic pins and black stilettos.
Joining presenters Clare Balding and Adrian Chiles in Beijing to discuss Olympic swimming updates, Davies attracted more attention for her looks than her opinions, the Daily Mail reported.
At the 2002 Athens Olympics, Davies also created a stir by donning figure-hugging outfits as she commentated on the aquatic events.
Despite the attention her high heels and diminutive shorts received, a spokesman for the Beeb claimed: "Our camera shots of Sharron are the same we would take of any other presenter."
Davies, who has three children, started swimming aged six and won several gold medals in the Commonwealth games when she was just 16.
Following in her footsteps this week, 19-year-old prodigy Rebecca Adlington won gold in the 400-metre freestyle race, bringing home Britains first gold medal in the event since 1960.
