Singer Lily Allen stepped out in style last night as she co-hosted the GQ Men of the Year Awards alongside legendary pianist Elton John.

Wearing a glamorous Dolce and Gabbana ball gown, Allen was struggling to make it down the red carpet, but later changed into a more streamlined satin gown.

However, the whole evening did not go according to plan after the two musicians had an onstage tiff when Elton raised concerns over Allens champagne quaffing during award announcements.

Other stars to claim the limelight included Thandie Newton, Liz Hurley, Jerry Hall and TV chef Gordon Ramsey.

Trinny and Suzannah did not miss the occasion, the latter wearing an unusual pair of stacked black satin platforms for the red carpet.

Also attending was supermodel Elle Macpherson, who towered over fellow guests in a pair of sophisticated black high heels.
