The National Movie Awards in London attracted a whole host of well-heeled A-listers this week.

Attracting the most attention was a radiant Nicole Kidman, who shunned the red carpet for a stage appearance wearing shiny peep toe heels and a beaded black dress.

The star was looking particularly well-toned despite giving birth to her daughter Sunday Rose in July.

Opting for a strut down the red carpet were fellow celebrities Samuel L Jackson, Meryl Streep and Sex and the Citys Chris Noth.

Like Kidman, Australian chanteuse Kylie Minogue avoided the traditional red carpet route and wore a shimmering gown with gold strapped stilettos.

Another head-turning attendee was Harry Potter actress Emma Watson, who looked her classy self in a flowing Grecian-style white dress with matching high heels.

Other star-studded movie awards ceremonies to be held of late include the Venice Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.
