Princess Diana: I dance like an elephant
According to the late Princess Diana, who so often wowed the press with her public appearances, not to mention her taste in party frocks and shoes, watching her dance was like watching an elephant.
In new letters released today for the first time, the insecurities of a teenage princess come to the fore, including her sense of awkwardness when it came to waltzing her way across a ballroom.
However, despite teenage angst towards strutting her stuff, the princess, then aged 17 wrote “the love of my life is dancing, things like tap, modern, ballet and jazz”.
Dianas former nanny Mary Clarke is set to sell the four letters, written by the princess in 1978, for an estimated £10,000.
The princess once showed off her dance moves with uber-cool actor John Travolta and waltzing whiz Wayne Sleep.
Prince William is not as eager to settle down as early as his mother, it appears, as he recently announced his intentions to train as an RAF pilot – a move which will put his wedding to long-term partner Kate Middleton back for at least two years.
