The current vogue for high heels is having a slightly wobbly side-effect, models at Milans fashion week have discovered.

As famous designer Prada debuted its catwalk collection, including, of course – some particularly killer heels – some models struggled to go the distance during the show.

Two unfortunate ladies ended up succumbing to gravity and tripped during their struts, but still inspired thunderous applause from the fashionista-jammed audience.

The offending shoes were snakeskin platforms with stacked soles – accompanied by a black and red snakeskin shift dress in one instance and a crumpled silky cream dress with a black bow in the next.

“I wanted to go back to something primitive. I was searching for what counts, what really matters. I wanted to clean things up and make them simple,” said Miuccia Prada of her new collection.

Milans fashion week is not alone in its trip-ups, as last week New Zealands event saw model Har Li stumble and fall while strutting in designer Annah Strettons creations.
