A model taking part in an outdoor catwalk event to celebrate London Fashion Week hit a hitch when her designer shoes gave out.

Becky Thompson, aged 17, was wearing a pair of £200 black high heel shoes during a photo shoot for the Worlds Longest Catwalk event when her footwear, literally, let her down.

“I couldnt believe it when they broke, it was so embarrassing! It was the first time Id done a catwalk shoot outside – Ill have to be more careful next time,” Ms Thompson said.

Organised by models and volunteers, the 1194-mile walk from Lands End to John OGroats took over 382 hours to finish.

Participants strolled through major hubs such as Edinburgh, Newcastle, Sheffield and Bournemouth as well as landmarks Stonehenge and The Angel of the North – at which Ms Thompsons shoe incident occurred.

London Fashion week was attended by the likes of Naomi Campbell, Cilla Black, the Sugababes and Daisy Lowe this year.
