Brits break world record with welly conga line
A line of Brit welly wearing waltzers has broken the world record for the longest conga line of people wearing the rubber boots.
Students and staff from Bicton College achieved the feet, with 208 of them turning out for the record-smashing attempt.
It was one of many events being held on the day for national Welly Week 2008, which aims to raise money for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
“We are astonished by the level of animation this has produced in our students, many of our courses involve welly wearing, so Bicton college was the ideal place to hold a world record attempt,” said lecturer Sam Walker.
Other fun on the day included welly wanging, a wet welly slide, welly sheep racing and a welly disco.
Guinness World Records Day, to be held in November this year, is an event scheduled to encourage people to attempt breaking some of the records the famous book features.
