Tess Daly: Killer heels here to stay for winter
Television star Tess Daly believes winter is unlikely to stop women going out in high heel shoes.
Writing in the Mirror, the co-host of Strictly Come Dancing said towering heels and fetish looks are set to be all the rage this season.
However, she conceded that this is "plain ridiculous", as wearing eight-inch heels is likely to hurt a lot.
She commented: "Instant sex appeal and alluring longer legs may be yours, but with heels like these so are blisters [and] broken ankles.
Daly added that women may also end up enduring bloated bladders, as anyone who struggles in high heels may be reluctant to make trips to the bathroom on a night out.
Meanwhile, womens car insurance provider Sheilas Wheels has urged female motorists to wear appropriate shoes when taking to the road.
The company believes more than 11 million women drivers are risking the safety of themselves and other road users by donning unsuitable footwear behind the wheel.
