Comfort comes top when women buy shoes
When it comes to shopping for shoes, most women go for comfort ahead of everything else, it has been discovered.
A poll of Good Housekeeping magazine readers, commissioned by Gabor, found that 98 per cent of 2,000 women questioned said they value comfort in a shoe foremost.
Coming closely behind was style, which 92 per cent of women said was the most crucial factor in their quest for new footwear.
However, 25 per cent said they were often frustrated with the fit of shoes, finding them to be too narrow.
A further 26 per cent said they have had trouble pulling up the zip on the legs of long boots.
Louise Chunn, the magazines editor, pointed out that “shoes and boots are meant to be hard-working wardrobe items” and that ill-fitting shoes are a problem for many women.
Actress Liv Tyler, despite modelling a pair of Louboutins last month, said she feels uncomfortable in high heels because of her height.
