Shoemaker attempts to break tiny footwear world record
A shoemaker from Bangalore, India, is aiming to break the world record for the highest number of mini pairs of shoes made by one man.
K R Shivshankar has already made almost 40 pairs of tiny shoes and is confident that he can break the record, newshopper.sulekha.com reports.
However, Mr Shivshankar is lacking the funds needed to pull off the impressive feet.
He became a shoemaker out of necessity after the death of his father, but soon developed a passion for the practice.
Mr Shivshankar realised the potential of his talents when tourists began to take an interest in the miniscule footwear.
"Initially it was just an experiment," he explained, but said "I am determined not to give up".
The shoes measure between three and five centimetres and come in the form of heels, gumboots and slip-ons.
It has emerged this week that Indian astronauts involved in the countrys plans to fly to the moon will be trained in Bangalore.
