British women bare their soles about footwear
A survey has discovered that when it comes to tightening their belts, women are coming up with increasingly canny ways in which to feed their love for shoes.
The credit crunch-related poll, undertaken by website shudoo.co.uk, revealed that although cutting spending is a priority at present, women are thinking with their shoes when it comes to saving.
A total of 90 per cent of women said they would consider wearing their insulated Ugg boots at home instead of turning on the heating.
Vamping up old shoes with a little customisation is something more than half of respondents said they have tried.
However, when finding themselves with a little extra cash, 36 per cent of women said they would spend it on shoes.
Someone who may be looking to free up a bit of cash is Simply Red front man Mick Hucknall, who this week put a pair of David Beckhams former football boots up for auction.
