Comfy heels developed by glamour-loving student
A student who was fed up of having to compromise her love for fashion to avoid the foot fatigue brought about by heels has invented shoes featuring a more spongy material.
Dubbed 24-hour heels, the footwear features cushions made from polyurethane that move in accordance with the wearers feet, supporting the ball and heel of the foot, reported stuff.co.nz.
The designer, New Zealand-born Aimie Whiting, declared that fashion should not equal pain.
“I like to wear high heels and I like to go out – I thought, there has to be some way to make them comfortable,” she explained.
Women would not be restricted to one type of shoe, as the design could be applied to all manner of styles, added the student.
In other groundbreaking footwear news, Japanese telecoms firm NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp), last month revealed that they have developed a shoe that generates electricity from footsteps.
