Celebrity-customised wellies auctioned for water charity
A host of wellies signed by celebrities have been auctioned on eBay in a bid to raise money for charity WaterAid.
Artists performing at this years Glastonbury festival in June were asked to customise a pair of the rubbery Hunter Boots with the proceeds from the auction to go to assisting people in remote areas of Madagascar.
Some of the celebrities involved in signing and redesigning the boots were rap star Jay-Z, Amy Winehouse, model Kate Moss, former Blur bassist-turned farmer Alex James and Wigan band The Verve.
WaterAid works in a total of 17 countries worldwide and aims to provide sanitation and clean water to people without safe supplies.
In other Welly-related Glastonbury news, Jay-Zs wife and US singer Beyonce Knowles yesterday said that after seeing her husbands set at this years festival, she would happily pull on some boots and perform at the 2009 event.
