Travellers just want their old slippers
Those who travel abroad or opt to go on worldwide adventures miss several home comforts on their journey – including their trusty slippers.
This is according to a survey conducted by TripAdvisor, which polled a selection of people who have travelled abroad to determine what they miss the most about Blighty while they are away.
It was discovered that Brits just cannot resist a bit of home comfort, with 25 per cent saying that they pack their slippers before jetting off.
Other little luxuries featuring heavily in their suitcases are tea bags, which 36 per cent of people pack, biscuits, which are staples for 12 per cent and a teddy bear, which eight per cent of these questioned said they sneak into their cases before holidaying.
Sunday roasts, fish and chips, Marmite, fry-ups and sausages and mash are also lusted after by Brits abroad, it was found.
In other footwear news, Flintshire Local Health Board announced this week that it is to train its employees in ensuring elderly people are wearing safe footwear indoors to decrease the risk of falls and sprains.
