Versatile shoe inventor speaks of her success
An ambitious entrepreneur from the UK has spoken of the success of her new product.
After becoming angry at extra charges for heavier baggage at airports and a lack of room in her luggage for shoes, Bernie Hurst decided to roll up her sleeves and invent a travel-friendly shoe.
Ms Hurst, who packed 15 pairs of shoes for a short break, came up with the idea of shoes with zip-on accessories that match different outfits and looks.
NooShooz come in four different styles - mules, flip-flops, stilettos and even jewelled flip-flops complete with Swarovski crystals.
"I thought it would be a great idea to have one pair of shoes which could be changed into any colour to suit different outfits which could be taken away on holiday," she said.
Since receiving the first batch a few weeks ago, Ms Hurst said that "women in Northampton, Brighton and all over are now wearing my shoes".
In other UK shoe news, women in the town of Torbay in Devon will be handed flip-flops after a night out in order to help them on their way home more safely and comfortably.
