Credit crunch spurs shoe generosity in Wales
A Welsh charity shop has reported that it has received some rather glitzy footwear, despite the economic outlook forcing many people to tighten their belts this Christmas.
A generous benefactor has donated two pairs of glamorous Jimmy Choo heels, marking a departure from the usual charity shop finds, reported Walesonline.co.uk.
The label, which is world-famous and has tempted celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cameron Diaz to step into a pair of its heels, spells luxury for most women.
Usually coming with a price tag of around three hundred pounds a pair, the shoes donated to Oxfam, Cardiff, are currently on offer for 150 each.
Store manageress Sue Courtney-Thomas commented: "I would love to display them better, but things always go walkabout from this store, so weve put a sign in the window advertising the shoes instead."
The Jimmy Choo brand has been highlighted further in recent years by the hit TV show and film Sex and the City due to protagonist Carrie Bradshaws love for the label.
