Respected thespian Dame Helen Mirren has been spotted wearing some less than fusty footwear on the set of her latest film, it has been reported.

Rather than some luxurious slippers or historical laced-up boots, the actress padded around the set of her new movie, a take on Shakespeares The Tempest, in some bright pink crocs, reported Female First.

It seems that the star is a fan of comfort rather than perfectly matching accessories.

The Calendar Girls actress, aged 63, may set off a trend for the brightly coloured footwear among her peers.

Russell Brand and actress Felicity Jones are also featuring in the film, which is currently being filmed in exotic Hawaii.
