Advice on how to strut safely in heels
A former shoe designer has offered women tips on how to master a strut in their favourite high heels.
Victor Chu, ex-shoe designer and footwear advisor, has stated that heels need not equal pain and women can follow a few handy tips to make their feet look and feel great, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.
When it comes to height, "unsexy shoes are anything under 2.75 inches", claimed the expert, who last week ran classes in New York to help women strut sexily in time for the Christmas party season.
"A two-inch heel is a little dowdy – too classical," he added.
The main problems with wearing heels are that women tend to "incorrectly shuffle their feet, placing their weight on the ball of the foot", he stated.
In light of this, Chus tips for pain-free heel-wearing are standing up straight, keeping abdominal muscles firm and walking with the emphasis on the hips, rather than the ball of the foot.
One celebrity who is clearly a fan of heels is Christina Aguilera, who wore a pair of high black boots to her birthday party last week.
