How to beat those unsightly bunions
Women worried about the impact high heels have on their feet have been advised on how to avoid the development of the dreaded bunion.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr Judy Baumhauer has pointed out that the dreaded foot condition is "actually a leaning of the great toe over towards the second toe", reported CBS.
She added that genetics can be the responsible for the formation of bunions in women, but the type of shoe they choose to wear is also responsible.
"The shoes that are pointy, high-heeled shoes can sort of mould your toes into that position where they lean over," she stated.
This does not mean that women should wear frumpy shoes, she added, but should avoid regularly wearing pointy ones and should always buy footwear that fits well.
One killer heel-loving celebrity who is battling with the bunions is Victoria Beckham, reported the China Daily news earlier this month.
