Good quality trainers important for workouts
The importance of choosing the right footwear for working out in has been highlighted by one publication.
According to thisissouthwales.co.uk, finding just the right footwear in which to work out is harder than many people think.
The newspaper points out that though some people consider training shoes to be a fashion accessory, a good pair is a necessity for those serious about exercise.
It quotes Simon Franks from shoe shop Up & Running as saying that most training shoes are "designed to stand up to around 500 miles of running on average".
"Making sure you have the right shoe will certainly help reduce the risk of getting a running injury and help prevent ankle, shin or knee pain," he said.
He highlights that running in old shoes can increase the risk of sustaining an injury while on the move.
Earlier this month, fitness instructor Rosalind Neilen devised a workout session for her regular attendees entitled the high heel workout.
It allows exercisers to warm up in heels so their legs get used to moving in glamorous footwear.
