Following an incident during which he let slip that he may be working on a shoe-designing project, the trainers of Kanye West have put in an appearance on a Paris catwalk.

The US rapper, who has often declared himself a fashion enthusiast, sat in the front row of the Louis Vuitton show and watched as models strutted past in a sneak preview pair of his trainers.

Made from leather and suede calfskin, the shoes are bright red and don the famous Louis Vuitton logo, with the complete collection due to be debuted in June.

He told the Los Angeles Times: "Ive wanted to be a fashion designer my entire life and to see my stuff in the Vuitton show was something else. It was a dream come true."

Meanwhile, US fashionistas have been kept busy this week watching the footwear and style choices of new first lady Michelle Obama.
