Glamorous shoe club allows women to show off heels
Those ladies who do not often get the chance to wear their most lavish footwear can now dust them off and join the Hello Stiletto Shoe Club.
The club, which is currently free and operates in 16 areas of the US, sees women from all walks of life step out of the shadows in their highest, glitziest, most dangerous footwear.
Melanie Walk, aged 25, is one of the Chicago branchs regular attendees, and told the Daily Herald newspaper that "the purpose is to have fun and wear cute shoes".
The organisation also holds other events, such as shoe competitions and girls night outs, as part of the meetings.
Further evidence of how much ladies across the Atlantic love their heels came from a poll conducted by BIGresearch and STORES magazine recently.
It found that one in four women refuse to cut down on shoe spending despite the recession.
