It seems as though men can love shoes just as much as women, comedian Billy Connolly has proven.

According to the Mirror, the Scottish funny man, 66, is so obsessed with shoes that he misses them when he goes on holiday.

He has also confessed to having a collection of over 100 pairs of shoes.

In particular, he says he pines for a certain leather pair that were "to die for".

However, the patent brogues, which featured a patch of leopard print and regarded as being ugly by most people, met an unfortunate end.

Connelly said: "I adored them but someone stole them from my house when there was a party. That must have been 20 years ago and I still think about them."

Another male celebrity who has admitted having a love of shoes is Christian Slater, who is currently dating Tamara Mellon, founder of the Jimmy Choo label.
