David Beckham was greeted by hoards of screaming fans recently as he arrived in Milan to launch a new pair of Adidas football boots.

The 33-year-old footballer was at an Adidas store in the city to unveil the new Predator PowerSwerve DB boot.

It seems as though the excitement may have been too much for some fans, as a few had to be treated by paramedics after fainting.

However, the former England captain, who was wearing an AC Milan training top, continued smiling and took the time to chat to some supporters as he struggled through the crowds.

Speaking about the event David said: "Its fantastic. I did not expect so many people. Since Ive arrived, its been wonderful."

He is currently on loan at AC Milan from US team LA Galaxy and has expressed his wish to stay with the Italian side permanently.
