While many people hate stepping out in the rain, Sarah Jessica Parker saw it as an opportunity to don some wellington boots and light up the pavement with a bright umbrella.

The Sex and the City actress stepped out with a brightly printed, rose-patterned brolly to protect her from the elements as she took her six-year-old son James Wilkie to school this week.

It is likely she had no reason to be dodging the puddles as she added a cosy-looking rain jacket and some green wellies to her outfit, along with a warm hat.

However, pictures from the Daily Mail show that stars can never be without their sunglasses, as she still wore a pair of dark shades, despite the gloomy weather.

Sarah may be just as much a fan of practical footwear as she is of designer heels, as she was spotted in a pair of comfy Ugg boots while filming her new movie Did You Hear About The Morgans?, the same news provider recently reported.
