Converse trainers given a birthday makeover for Selfridges
To celebrate the 100th birthday of Selfridges, everything from Converse trainers to Christian Louboutin heels have been given something of a makeover.
Both pairs of famous shoes have been specially produced in the department stores signature Pantone 109 yellow colour, My Fashion Life reports.
These will be on display in The Wonder Room, which has been turned into a homage to the store and is packed full of the limited edition pieces.
Other items which have been given the Selfridges yellow treatment include lollipops, vodka, Mulberry handbags, Diptyque candles and Coca-Cola bottles.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday and uber-fashionable celebrity DJs such as Giles Deacon and Henry Holland will be spinning some tunes on the decks.
Guests will also be wined and dined with cake and champagne to say happy birthday to the famous British retailer.
Some of the celebrities bound to be in attendance may well be Converse trainer fans themselves, as the Murray State News recently claimed that the shoes are a favourite among the stars.
