As she stepped on to the red carpet last night it may have been a good idea for Kirsty Gallagher to check the soles of her shoes first.

The 33-year-old looked stunning in a simple black satin, one shoulder dress at the Sport Industry awards in London, the Daily Mail reports.

However, although her towering gladiator-inspired heels matched the frock perfectly, she made the mistake of leaving the price tag on the sole for all to see.

It also turns out that Kirsty is a conscientious shopper when it comes to price, as the sticker clearly showed that the shoes cost her a bargain £25.

Other sports stars out in force for the event included Denise Lewis, who opted for a pair of knee-high black peep-toe boots and a simple white dress.

Another TV star was recently in the news because of her footwear. Chef Nigella Lawson chose a pair of zebra print wedges designed by Christian Louboutin.
