It seems as though the trend for sculpted heels is continuing in the world of designer shoes, if the pairs modelled be two of the worlds most famous women recently are anything to go by.

Both Madonna and Victoria Beckham opted for a pair of eye-catching footwear designed by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday.

Although Madonna went for some thigh-high black boots and Victoria a more traditional black shoe, both featured the same statement heel which has a conical shape with two silver spheres at the top.

Posh Spice teamed hers with a silver and black polka-dot mini dress with a long train, while Madonna chose a pantomime-looking blue ruffled dress and gloves.

The Louis Vuitton Spicy shoe has also been causing a stir lately, with celebrities such as Chloe Sevigny and Alexa Chung spotted in a pair of the embellished heels.
