Consumers have been given some top tips on what to look for when buying themselves a new pair of Reebok or Puma trainers to ensure they get the perfect fit.

Express Buzz claims that the first thing to do when selecting a pair of trainers to go running in is pick one that is a half to a full size bigger than the usual measurement.

This is because feet usually swell up when a person is running.

If a thumb is pressed into the shoe just above the longest toe it should fit into the area of the trainer – this is the ideal size.

Secondly, the shoes should be tested for a week to ensure that they are not going to rub or cause blisters during a long race.

In other trainer news, Reebok has just announced that it has launched a new iPhone application which allows people to customise their own pair of trainers using their mobile.
