Converse is one of the most iconic brands of trainers on the market, and so it is perhaps unsurprising that Whoopi Goldberg is so in love with them.

Goldberg herself is one of the most familiar names of the modern age and can confidently proclaim herself, like Converse, to be one of the US most famous exports.

While the glamour and the glitz of the red carpet are never far away from the award-winning actress, it would appear that she also enjoys the comfort of a well-worn pair of trainers.

She recently arrived for an interview with the Telegraph wearing black and white converse trainers – a pair which the newspaper revealed are “the only shoes she will wear”.

Goldberg is not the only Hollywood icon to hold Converse trainers so close to her heart – Liv Tyler also told the Times recently that she has a special bond with the baseball shoes.

“I still have my original pair of Converse trainers from when I was a teenager somewhere in my closet,” she explained.
