Ted Baker shoes looking to grow

Shoes and clothing firm Ted Baker is planning to expand its reach with new initiatives in the UK and plans to concentrate on the US market.

The company launched its range of shoes in 2002 and it has doubled in size over the past five years, according to Matthew Rock, managing director of Ted Baker footwear at Pentland USA, which has the licence for Ted Baker shoes.

Britain remains the apparel and footwear firms largest market, but it plans to focus its attention on the US for the next two years and develop new retail opportunities for its footwear brand.

Ray Kelvin, Ted Baker founder and chief executive, told the news source that the firm wants to ensure that it remains eccentric and maintains its sense of humour, rather than becoming “corporate”.

On its website, Ted Baker describes its range of shoes as: “Sturdy enough to deal with the demands of everyday wear, yet stylish enough for the most discerning feet.”
