Timberland add new Earthkeeper boots to environmentally friendly line
As the emphasis on going green increases across the globe, it seems as though one footwear manufacturer may be keen to get in on the action.
Timberland has announced that it is adding another boot to its collection of environmentally friendly footwear.
The Earthkeepers 2.0 boot will be unveiled to the public next week, AHN reports.
It features patented green rubber outsoles, 42 per cent of which are composed of rubber tyres and the idea is that once the shoe is worn out, this can be recycled.
Furthermore, if environmentally conscious consumers return their boots to Timberland they will be taken apart and the components used to make new products, the news provider continues.
Earthkeepers were first introduced in 2007 and the latest addition to the line will be available for purchase later this year.
Timberland states that it aims to "equip people to make a difference in their world" by reducing its carbon footprint and being as environmentally conscious as possible when manufacturing shoes.
