A man who wears Timberland hiking boots on a dinner date is the type of person who likes to feel like he could be on a mountain in eight seconds if he wanted to, one dating expert has asserted.

The Sunday News was intrigued by some of the beliefs held by Donna Sozio, author of Never Trust A Man in Alligator Loafers: What His Shoes Really Say About His True Love Potential.

Ms Sozio, a shoe-ologist, claimed that guys who wear hiking boots on a non-outdoorsy date are impulsively adventurous and therefore looking for a woman who will not make them feel restrained.

“As long as you dont make him feel tied down, he will be a loyal partner,” she said.

She added that the shoes a man wears and the way that he treats them are fail-safe indicators of his romantic personality and how he will behave with a woman.
