There is a major footwear war going on between Ugg boots and pirate boots in Leeds, according to a new survey.

A street poll conducted by Adfero surveyed female students in the city centre and asked them whether they were planning to adjust their spending habits.

It confirmed the enduring popularity of the stylish but sensible boots, which will come as no shock to many fashionistas.

Students were also asked which items they were shopping for in preparation for their return to lectures.

When questioned on what she was buying for the new term, 21-year-old Natalie Crawford, who studies at Leeds Metropolitan University, said: “I dont have any money, [but] what I do want though is some boots; short, studded boots – Ive seen some that I want.”

This news comes after the publication of an article in Grazia last month, in which the author claimed she had “never seen so many [Ugg boots and pirate boots]” in Leeds.
