Skechers brand ambassador GEM performed to fans at the Olympian City, West Kowloon today in celebration of 18 years of the existence of the popular shoes.

Having recently been endorsed by the California footwear firm, the celebrity sung and rapped to an audience, unveiling three of Skechers major collections, including Urban Street Fashion, Music Freak and Party Fun.

Michael Leung, the president of Skechers in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, said that the singer is a perfect match with the brands image, especially given that GEM stands for Get everyone moving, a mantra which the footwear label also shares.

“GEM. is very outstanding in singing, composing and studying, who is definitely a role model of the youths,” stated Mr Leung.

He also highlighted the coincidence to be found in GEMs age: 18.

Meanwhile, youths substantially younger than GEM are also wearing the shoes, as the Irish Independent recently revealed Skechers to be a common choice among parents and children shopping for school footwear.
