It appears that Nike shoes can help university students to make a statement around campus, if the ruminations of one news provider are to be believed.

The PCC Courier found out exactly what kind of shoes rock peoples socks this autumn at the Pasadena City College, one of 108 community colleges in California.

Nike shoes seem to be a popular choice it reports, with people like 19-year-old business student Chrishawn Fierson claiming she loves her Air Jordans and enjoys wearing them because of their colour and the associated price tag.

Meanwhile, Karen Hernandez, who studies forensics, is also a fan of Nikes – even though she does not usually wear trainers – and has a penchant for the colour pink.

“Pink is my favourite colour and the shoes were a gift to myself for my 18th birthday. I also take a look at what other girls are wearing to see how they show off their style,” she said.
