Newsboys get their own Converse trainers
Fans of Converse trainers may be interested in a new style inspired by a rock band.
Newsboys, who originally formed in Australia, have signed a deal with American Athletics to produce a line of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoes that sport the groups logo on the side.
They will be available in red, black, pink and blue, in both high and low-top styles.
American Athletics owner Gary Church commented on the development and pointed out these are not the first famous faces to don the trainers.
He said: “American Athletics has placed shoes on the feet of Mel Gibson, Whitney Houston, and the likes of Bob Dylan.
“But I personally have never been involved with a group as excited to wear Chucks as Newsboys. Great group … great shoe. Both are All Stars.”
The shoes were launched on the bands The Way We Roll tour.
Meanwhile, Adidas recently teamed up with Def Jam rapper Redman to recreate a 1980s version of the groups Superstar trainer, Retro To Go reported.
