Big heels and laces will be all the rage early next year, according to Female First magazine.

Lace-up ankle boots, such as those offered by Moda In Pelle, will be one of the key footwear trends for spring 2010, the magazine said.

Shoe-boots sporting laces will also be popular, adding a twist to a more traditional style.

These statement boots are a versatile option. Female First says they work perfectly when combined skinny jeans or even your favourite little black dress.

Not all lace-up boots are about big heels. Hush Puppies and Clarks are among the brands offering lace-up boots with a lower heel for women seeking more comfort.

Other trends to watch out for this spring include the 90s resurgence and the return of the kitten heel.
