Lacoste launches new trainer range
Lacoste will be adding a new range of trainers to its fashion collections next month with the introduction of its Gambetta models.
The colourful trainers featuring purple, yellow, pink and grey panels are described as “a reworked classic style that picks up on the trend for geometric styling and acid brights” in the Shoewawa blog.
Also joining the ranks of the brands footwear collections is the intriguingly-titled Bundle boot.
Writing in the blog, Abi Silvester describes them as “a sort of hybrid wellington and Ugg”.
The unusual design pairs patent black material with padding around the ankles. Available in subtle black or bright yellow, orange and blue, both styles feature two chunky buttons on the outside edge of the boot.
French brand Lacoste was established in 1933. Its famous logo – the alligator – was designed by tennis legend Rene Lacoste after he picked up the nickname in 1927.
From the original shirt carrying the alligator, designed for Lacostes own use on the tennis court, the emblem has become a recognisable fashion label around the world.
