Wearing high heel shoes is a pleasure for tennis ace Serena Williams, she has recently admitted.

The Wimbledon champion and sister of fellow star Venus has stated that when she was unable to play due to injury she would don high heels every day.

Talking to the Daily Telegraph in the run up to the start of play at SW19, the three-time winner said: "I was enjoying every second of it. I was wearing high heels every day. I was in heaven."

However, the time soon came for her to swap her heels for her trainers and start training in preparation of heading out onto Centre Court, although she did admit that she is still "obsessed" with doing her nails.
