Getting a new pair of fashionshoes can be great for updating an outfit, but Ciara has taken it one step further by buying several pairs a month.

The American singer has stated that she will go shopping for the newest footwear trends every few weeks.

Speaking to Pride magazine, the star, whose hits include 1, 2 Step and a duet with Justin Timberlake said that she will spend an average of $11,000 (£7,247) a month buying new shoes.

"When I go shopping, my most extravagant purchases are normally going to be shoes," the 24-year-old explained.

While Ciara admitted that she likes to splash out mainly on designer trends, buying a pair of humble Dr Martens is also high on her shopping list as she likes to go for whatever is "hot" at the time.
