Wearing womens high heels does not cause bunions
Wearing womens high heels is not the cause of developing bunions on the feet, according to one expert.
While many people think that the sole reason for developing the foot problem is wearing high or tight-fitting shoes, the truth is that most of the time it is simply hereditary.
Ioan Tudur Jones, consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon the Lister Hospital in London, told the Daily Mail that he encourages his wife to wear the model of shoes that she likes.
“Not only does she look good in them but as a foot and ankle surgeon I know that bunions are 99 per cent hereditary,” he said.
In order to keep feet in good shape, the specialist recommends spending five minutes a day stretching the achilles tendon, as it is the root of many different foot problems.
Celebrate high heels by slipping on a brand new pair, like the show-stopping Columba Red Patent model from Moda In Pelle.
