Although boots are usually associated with winter, a new generation of shoe boots has made this kind of footwear acceptable for the summer months too.

Writing for the Globe and Mail, Amy Verner said summery boots are part of the new trend for seasonless dressing, meaning they could be the perfect smart footwear to don for a day at the office.

To ensure your boots do not look too wintry, Ms Verner recommended choosing styles that skim as close to the ankle as possible, avoiding calf and ankle-length styles at all costs.

Cut-out panels, alternative fabrics to plain black leather and quirky colours are also good to look out for in order to keep the feel of the footwear away from thoughts of cold weather and frost and back to barbecues and outdoor picnics.

“Kick up your heels and soak up the summer sun before real boot season begins,” Ms Verner concluded.

A great summer shoe boot could be the Red or Dead Tuxedo style in pale pink, as its light colour has a breezy feel while its bow detailing is smart enough for work.
