Wearing pumps or flat shoes is the preferred choice of model Elle Macpherson, the star has admitted.

Although the star made her name strutting along the catwalk in high heel shoes, she now rarely wears them.

When she was spotted wearing the high heeled shoes, the mum of two explained that she only donned them to prove that she was comfortable with being so tall.

"I can't remember the last time I wore them so now they are quite old and are gathering dust at the back of the wardrobe," the 47-year-old told Closer magazine.

Whether Elle likes to wear her heels or not, there could be a host of new models who would love to get their hands on them when they go before her in the new series of Britain's Next Top Model.
