Worn trainers can be behind imbalance
Wearing trainers that have become worn down through frequent use can be a cause of imbalance.
This is according to fitness expert Tony Gallagher, who wrote in his Daily Telegraph column that a pair of new trainers could be all that is needed for a reader who is struggling to keep their balance during their exercise regime.
As they are struggling to stay upright when doing stretches like squats and lunges, the specialist suggested that worn trainers are forcing them to rebalance to prevent any over-pronation.
"A more solid pair of shoes may make it a lot easier to keep balance when doing these exercises," said Mr Gallagher.
However, he advised that if the problems persist it could be down to an injury or the effects of ageing and advised the reader to visit the doctor for further advice.
